The Opportunity

Since 2008, POWERforward has organized sports camps and community initiatives in Haiti.

Our camps

1 camp costs approximately $14,000.00 to host.

The most recent camp was held December 18, 2016, in Port-au-Prince – 220 children attended this 1-day basketball camp. POWERforward was able to provide campers with elite basketball instruction from instructors that included current coaches from both Haiti and the US, as well as former college and professional players, new and gently used shoes, a nutritional meal, and most importantly hope for a brighter future.

Our students

are identified at our basketball camps and community initiatives. Many know camp is their opportunity to be noticed and included in the U.S. education program. Immigration processes require 6 months to 1 year of paper work to bring an identified POWERforward student to the U.S. Once POWERforward identifies a student for an educational opporunity, we must prepare their immigration paperwork, transport them to and from the embassy for their appointments, and transport them to the U.S.

The initial immigration process costs approximately $1,500.00.
